We just got a new puppy or kitten. What do I need to do now?
Kittens and puppies need special attention during early development. Bringing your new pet at Narrows Animal Health Center of Brooklyn, NY for exams early will allow us to set up a treatment regimen. This includes vaccinations, feeding recommendations, house training, and discussing heartworm prevention and flea control. We also discuss spaying or neutering your pet.
If you have any further questions, please fill out our new client form or visit us!
When can my pet be spayed or neutered?
New pets can be spayed or neutered at about 5-6 months of age, after receiving all standard vaccinations. Contact us for a pre-operative appointment.
Why does my pet need to be vaccinated?
Vaccinations can help prevent several and serious chronic and life-threatening diseases in pets. They are a simple and inexpensive way to protect your pet and keep them happy. Indoor pets have diminished exposure to contagions, but should still be vaccinated.
Can you recommend something for pet identification?
We recommend microchip implants. This permanent identification can never be lost, altered, or damaged. By implanting chip identification, your pet can be tracked by veterinary hospitals, humane societies, and animal shelters across the country. With a chip implant, you'll never have to fret if your pet is lost.
